Correct weight means two things.
Firstly, it signifies that the placegetting jockeys have stood on some scales, and a steward has made sure that they don't weigh less than the weight they had been listed to ride at.
Secondly, it confirms that no rider has lodged a protest against another rider, that could change the result.
An overwhelming majority of the time, there is correct weight.
