This week the early market moves provide excellent leads to the chances of a number of runners at both key venues.
At Caulfield a shrewd betting stable appears to have one ready to fire first-up and are looking to take advantage of the good fresh record.
Whilst at Randwick Kris Lees may have one set-up to peak, after a “base building” run at the same 1600m last start.

He’s Beset
Was a huge move in betting late ($2.80 into $1.85) last start, when backed as if unbeatable at Sandown and just ran out of runway to reel in the leader.
He is owned by a wealthy trucking magnate who is heavily invested in the industry, whereby Nick Ryan would be desperate to place his runner to advantage and impress.
I suspect the horse is cherry ripe and has bounced through the last start run with ease.
The motivation is sky high for the stable to be winning this!
Nations Call
Has strong form coming into this after a brave win last time out at Sandown against Awash, who has since come out and won.
He worked in the run last start over 1500m and still proved too strong, hence the step up in distance to 1700m looks ideal.
The gun rider Blake Shinn sticks which is a strong sign the horse is flying, as he has been taking his pick of each field lately.
Mornington Glory
The yard is very shrewd and does like to set them up for a bet, taking advantage of placing them where the prizemoney is winnable.
He has an excellent first-up record (4:1-1-1) where only ever out of the placings once and it is likely the trainer will consider this and have him fully wound up and ready to go.
From gate 4 expect they can find the moving line with cover and travel in an ideal midfield position, before presenting over the final 200m.
Rheinburg
Above average Team Hayes runner who has performed well all preparation, winning here last start over 1440m.
He will be rock-hard fit now after plenty of recent racing and from the mid-draw this will allow them to be more positive.
They will be the one applying pressure from a long way out, in an attempt to grind this field into the ground.
Don Diego De Vega
Anabelle Neasham import who ran well on debut at Rosehill when storming home from a long way back to place 2 of 14, in a run where he did have excuses after an awkward start.
He could be ridden closer given the first-up “sighter”, and in a small field he should not be too far off the lead in any case.
This race appears to lack depth and he appears very well placed by the yard in a winnable race.
Zouphoria
Has found several Heavy tracks this preparation where she is likely to be un-suited, with room to improve on a firmer surface.
If the track continues to dry we could see a Soft track rating at Randwick on Saturday, where she could be the big improver.
She did enough at Rosehill last start over 1400m when placing 3 of 12, to suggest she is on target.
Watch betting again late.
Sailor
The stable love to travel one down from their Newcastle base to set it up for a decent bet, and the two trips prior may have been part of a broader plan for today!
He kept chasing last start over 1600m and is likely to have needed the hit-out over the mile to be now ready to win over the same distance here.
With a solid base, he will be trained to the minute and ready for a peak performance.
He could start shorter!
Gitalong
Interesting Team Hawkes runner who ran first-up at Caulfield last start, where bumped into a good one (Whistlefield) when placing 2 of 13.
The yard has placed him to perfection here, finding a weak race that has fallen away dramatically with several scratchings.
From gate 3 they should have every opportunity to find an ideal on-speed position, and from there can navigate to the best part of the track at this late stage.
*Note: This market move has been affected by scratchings.
