Briasa got the chocolates for early market movers supporters last week and looks set for much bigger races this Spring.
With the good horses now returning, early price action again provides us with an excellent market guide on where the smart money is flowing.
At Moonee Valley, a Phillip Stokes mare has been well supported in betting, and with tactical speed looks to be a great chance early in the day.
Whilst at Randwick an Australian Derby champion returns and due to the early price-action is likely to be very forward for this first-up assignment.

Denmark
Interesting Waller import who showed good signs last start when winning at Newcastle, that he is on track for a big Spring.
The stable has put several key clients into the horse and would be keen to impress with a Saturday city win in Melbourne.
He hasn’t seen a quality rider since arriving in the country and finds Damian Lane here, who represents a significant upgrade and could add lengths!
Savannah Cloud
Experienced galloper who can do it tough, racing on or close to speed.
Whilst she may have to take a sit on this occasion outside the lead or one pair back, she still has the quality to keep coming and can be “last man standing” inside the final 50m.
The yard is very shrewd and appears to have her very well placed in this race, at this stage of her preparation.
Showmanship
Has a touch of class and arrives here following an ultra-impressive Caulfield win when came with a sustained rush from well back to get up right on the peg.
Provided he holds form expect he can be just as dynamic over 1500m and only needs the right tow into it from the 600m to make his presence felt late again.
The owner expects results and the trainer will be highly motivated to deliver.
Piastri
Well-travelled by the gun camp to find the right races, and arrives back in Melbourne here following an excellent Sydney campaign which yielded a Rosehill win last start.
The trips away do have the ability to switch them on mentally, where a change of scenery is often the key to winning and holds residual benefit going forward.
Launching from gate 6 I’d expect M Dee to find the moving line, midfield with cover and from there he should have every chance to time a lethal run.
Field Of Myrtle
Racing well in Queensland where recent successes have earned her a trip South to tackle Sydney Saturday class, albeit in a Highway restricted race.
The Matt Dunn stable is the masters of targeting this race and over the years certainly has learnt the right horse to travel.
Although the Rosehill “training base” loophole closed for them some time ago, the yard has still found a way to be the most dominant participant in these races.
Strathtay
Waller runner who is a last start winner here at the track over the same 2400m distance, when heavily backed late ($4 into $3.30).
He has a significant base of fitness to work with now and I expect a brutal speed can play into his hands even more.
If they charge along throughout he should be the one unleashing hell late, running home right over the top.
Major Beel
The Australian Derby champion possesses a proven level of stoutness which can be used to advantage in high-pressure races.
Expect being from this particular yard we can be confident they have him forward enough in condition to win here, early in the preparation.
If he is gifted the lead and allowed to run them along, expect he will be kicking hard off the front and it will take a good one to run past him.
Bella Nipotina
Gun sprinting mare who was dominant over the Queensland carnival, winning multiple Group 1 races and only just edged out for 2nd in the Stradbroke!
She should hold some residual fitness gained in her most recent campaign which should provide an advantage against others who return off longer breaks.
No doubt she is the proven runner who given any luck and the right run should be in the finish.
