The winning streak continued last week with First Settler saluting at $3.70, making it 9 winning weeks out of the last 10.
This week, I’m confident we can keep the momentum going with two strong selections, both coming off excellent recent runs.

Cody Lane continues to find value amongst his best bets.
Caulfield Race 1 #8 Saban $2.80
A progressive 4yo gelding by Shamus Award, Saban was brilliant first-up at Flemington when coming from the rear of the field to storm home for a dominant 1.5-length victory.
That win came over 1420m, a distance short of his preferred range, making the step up to 1700m second-up here even more suitable.
He’s got a class edge over this field and should be able to settle well from barrier 1.
While he might need a bit of luck from the inside gate, if he gets the right breaks, Saban looks poised to continue his winning ways and prove too classy for his rivals.
Caulfield Race 6 #4 Gear Up $6.00
Gear Up is a 6yo gelding from the Annabel Neasham and Archibald stable, and it’s surprising to see him at $6.00.
Based on his form, I expect he could start as the favourite by race time.
His last two runs have been terrific, including a narrow 0.2-length defeat in the Group 3 Naturalism at this very track, showcasing that he's in top form.
The main query is his lack of strong performances over this distance range in Australia.
However, he’s never looked better this preparation, and with very little early speed in the race, jockey Jamie Mott should be able to position him perfectly from the wide barrier.
If he can sit just behind the leaders, with his key rivals chasing from further back, Gear Up will be tough to pass and represents great value at $6.00.
