Colin Hodges Tips Colin Hodges (NSW)

Tim Edwards Tips Tim Edwards (SA)

$260 cash profit, 37% POT Follow

It was one of SKY Racing's most popular presenters, John Scorse, who was the best of the bunch over the past week.

The ex-jockey turned form expert found four good winners for his followers.

This delivered a cash profit of $1,120 for punters who followed Scorsey's tips with $100 bets.

As it's crucial knowledge for their profession, jockeys are the best form analysts when it comes to assessing factors like speed maps and racing patterns.

This is just one of the reasons they make such good tipsters.

It was another racing presenter, Marc Ohlmus, who secured the silver medal.

Ohlmus is based out west, where he provides a handful of quality tips each week.

This time he landed $11.80 winner Mr Kunafa at Ascot on Sunday, bringing in $680 profit for his followers at a bumper 136% POT.

But it's Ohlmus' tipping streak that will get punters talking.

That's because he has now recorded four profitable tipping months in a row.

What an effort.

Race caller Russell Leonard rounded out the podium, after securing a handsome profit at Rockhampton on Saturday.

Leonard's two winners included 12/1 shot Marching Orders in Race 5.

Overall, he finished up with a terrific 84% POT.

Not bad at all.

It was another race caller, Colin Hodges, who came in next with a cash profit of $430 from $100 win bets.

This was thanks to Hodges' accurate tipping at Coonamble on Sunday.

Just like jockeys, race callers know the ins and outs of race day better than just about anyone.

And this is why it's always a sound betting strategy to follow their knowledge and experience.

Finally, Tim Edwards delivered at Murray Bridge on Sunday.

He generated a solid profit of $270 for his followers.

But more impressive is the fact that Edwards is now sitting on a 4-day tipping streak at all tracks.

His free horse racing tips are sure to be sought after in the coming weeks.

How did the big guns fare?

Like most of us, SKY Racing's flagship tipsters had a tough week on the punt.

Brad Davidson came closest to securing a profit after finding two good winners at Scone on Monday.

His best bet on Saturday Master Of Wine also got up, meaning that Davidson was far from disgraced.

Also tipping Master Of Wine was Ron Dufficy.

The Duff also stuck with Funstar, but was unable to bag any more Rosehill winners on what was a tough day.

Paul Joice likewise struggled on the heavy Rosehill going.

After a stellar performance a fortnight ago, many were thinking that Joice would repeat the dose.

But a week can be a long time in racing.

With a few boilover results, such as Con Te Partiro taking out the Coolmore Classic, it was tricky to make inroads.

And finally, SKY's main man Tony Brassel didn't fare much better.

Brassel provided a few good tips across the week, including $8 winner Goddodin in the last at Caulfield on Saturday.

But with his best bets Wayupinthesky and Secret Blaze both running a place, and Alligator Blood missing out in the All-Star Mile, it was an unlucky day for Bras.
