Mark's Saturday Best

Racing returns to Caulfield this Saturday with the rail back in the True position, and the surface expected to sit in the Good 4 to Soft 5 range.

With only light rain forecast and a drying week overall, punters can anticipate a fair track where class and race shape will be key factors.

Mark Hunter has identified two key bets to back with confidence – including a progressive type stepping up early in the day, and a proven performer ready to win in familiar company.

You can grab his full premium package for Saturday racing via the link below.

Hunter's full Premium Tip Package for Saturday is available now.

Includes access to his betting plan, top-rated runners for every race & more!

Mark Hunter Horse Racing Tips for Caulfield 12/7/25

Race 1 – #2 Signature Scent

A lightly raced 3YO with plenty of upside, Signature Scent looks primed to deliver on the potential he showed last campaign.

He returns this prep with a solid hit-out and now steps up in trip and fitness, with the 1100m at Caulfield shaping as ideal.

He draws well, maps to land in the first four, and finds a winnable race lacking much depth.

With natural progression and good tactical speed, he looks every bit a Saturday-class galloper in the making.

Race 4 – #2 Jimmy The Bear

Jimmy The Bear is as honest as they come, and this looks his race to win.

He was terrific when second to Oh Too Good three back and has since backed it up with successive wins at Flemington.

H has drawn ideally, and returns to a track where he’s performed well in the past.

Expect him to settle just off the pace, peel wide, and power home.

With conditions to suit and a fitness edge on most of his rivals, he shapes as the best of the day.
