All ratings for Caulfield are based on a Good/Soft track.
As of Wednesday, the track is rated Good-4 with a high chance of showers expected on both Friday and Saturday.
Two different forecasts predict 0-5 mm of rain for each day, so conditions may change.
The rail is set at 6 meters.
In the previous meeting, when the rail was true, the track played well, though later in the day, runners might need to avoid the hard inside rail due to strong winds making it challenging to lead or face the breeze.
Previously, with the rail at 9 meters, winners consistently settled in the first 5 positions.
In Sydney, Randwick is also rated as a Good track.
The rail is set at True.
The last meeting with a 6-meter rail saw a significant advantage for on-pace runners due to strong southerly winds and very fast times.
With the rail back to True, it’s expected that run-on horses will have a better chance, especially those coming from off the inside rail.
BET OF THE DAY (Melb)
Caulfield - Race 5 No.3 - Another Wil
This galloper looks primed for another big performance.
His jumpout may not have been flashy, but his first-up win was exceptional.
Coming from back and wide in a race that favored on-pace runners, Another Wil closed off with an electrifying final 200m in 11.08 seconds, the fastest of the day by a huge 3-length margin.
He’s undefeated second-up (2 for 2) and has the potential to develop into a Group 1 contender.
I expect him to maintain his unbeaten second-up record.
BET OF THE DAY (Syd)
Randwick - Race 7 No.6 - Autumn Glow
Autumn Glow showed her class on debut, dominating a subsequent winner in Dawn Service, and she followed that with another strong effort over 1300m.
What makes her stand out is her ability to build momentum, getting stronger as the race progresses.
She has already clocked impressive times against older horses, and with 1400m here, she looks like she’ll relish the distance.
This filly could be something special.
