We head to the NSW Riverina region on Monday, where Leeton plays host to a strong seven-race card featuring small fields which will make for a tricky day of racing.
We're warming up down south, with temperatures likely to hit 20 degrees today.
The track is rated a Good 4 and with the rail situated in the true position, expect all horses to be given their chance.
From the stewards
Watch out for Tocatchacod in race 3, who returned to a more favourable dry track at Wagga last start and finished an unlucky second.
Unfortunately for his connections, he was only able to obtain clear running in the last 100m of the clash.
He's drawn the rail today, so there's no doubt he'll need some luck in the straight. However if the breaks come, he can go one better.
Jockey to watch
Apprentice Danielle Scott has ridden 2 winners from 5 starts at Leeton.
Scott has 2 rides today and will be looking to improve on her impressive win strike-rate of 40%.
Her best chance for the afternoon comes in race 6 on board Mouse Almighty.
Gundagai trainer Todd Smart saddles up the four-year-old Nicconi gelding Underthespotlight.
Last time out he was not far from disgraced in a very hot maiden at Canberra, where he finished behind the smart Wholesome Delight.
He has showed enough early speed in his first two starts this preparation to sit close in this clash and prove hard to beat.
From barrier one, look for jockey Matt Cahill to push forward and lead.
The ability this bloke has demonstrated so far looks far more superior than his rivals here, and I'm confident he'll be able to hold them out.
