Mick continues to nail his best bets at a good rate!
Ripley was very good late on debut over 1250m at Canterbury, despite being held up on straightening.
Once clear, he hit the line strongly, running the 6th fastest last 200m of the entire meeting.
The step up to 1400m looks perfect for a horse who finished off so well first-up, especially from a stable renowned for improving horses from their debut runs.
While drawn wide, expect him to settle midfield and launch late, likely finding the best ground down the middle of the track.
He looks a strong winning chance.
This son of Dundeel caught the eye on debut, running a strong third behind Marioi Chief and Gunroom, who have since performed well to frank the form.
Charleroi produced the 4th fastest last 600m of the meeting at this track and looks perfectly suited stepping out to 1400m for his second start.
Drawn in barrier 2, he’s likely to settle beyond midfield and will need some luck in the run.
If the breaks come, he has more than enough ability to finish over the top of his rivals.
A definite horse to watch.
