Race 2 #3 Gunroom $5.00

Forgive and forget is the motto here. Gunroom had no luck first-up at Hawkesbury, trapped wide throughout and later found to have post-race issues.

But don’t let that cloud your judgement, his trials leading into that run were outstanding, suggesting he’s come back in top order.

Drawn ideally in barrier 4, he should enjoy a soft run behind the speed and, with clear air late, has the turn of foot to launch over the top.

Race 3 #3 Hell To Pay $4.40

This Randwick-trained gelding resumes with a pair of solid trials under the belt and finds a much more suitable race than what he faced first-up last prep.

Last campaign he resumed over 1100m at Canterbury, a track and trip that didn’t suit.

But now he's back at home, over a more suitable 1300m, and gets the benefit of a softer tempo and longer run home.

This looks like a perfect set-up to produce a forward run fresh.
