All ratings for Flemington on Champions Stakes Day are for a GOOD track.
The rail moves out to the 8m position (previously 5m on Oaks Day), and as the day progressed, the preferred ground was slightly off the inside.
In the straight races, winners were coming from beyond the middle of the track.
In Sydney, it’s Rosehill, and all ratings are also for a GOOD track.
The rail moves to the 3m position after being set to True last Saturday.
Despite rain that day, the inside lanes provided an advantage, favouring runners positioned there.
Here are my best bets for the day. You can grab my full package via the link below.
Flemington - Race 4 No.9 - Nadal
Gelded for this preparation, Nadal had an impressive trial before facing the breeze first-up with 60kg on a fast pace.
With a colder ride and fitter condition on a drier track at Caulfield, he won very well, again carrying significant weight.
He now drops to 54kg and looks primed to go well.
Rosehill - Race 5 No.4 - Unique Ambition
Won the Midway first-up, overcoming traffic issues, then gave a strong performance in the G3 Angst, only being overtaken in the last 50m.
The winner of that race then performed well in the G1 Empire Rose.
Dropping back in class, with 1800m looking suitable, Unique Ambition is well-placed for a strong run.
