Wonder women flaunt their racing expertise
As spring racing starts to heat up, it was the fillies who fired, with two women of racing having a wonderful week.
One of the ladies who made plenty for punters was Racing.com journalist and presenter Grace Ramage.
Grace is emerging as one of the best up-and-coming voices in the racing industry, and demonstrated why that's the case over the past seven days.
The Melbourne racing analyst notched up a cool $2,590 profit for those following her tips and best bets, representing an astonishing 235% Profit on Turnover (POT) and a cracking strike rate of 56%.
These amazing statistics underline just how strong Ramage's Moonee Valley analysis performed on Saturday. To top it off she managed to include both of her best bets amongst her five winners.
The other standout performance this week came from another women in racing. Known to visitors of theGreatTipOff.com as HoldingAces, this Melbournian lass made a huge $5,893 profit over the week using her staking plan.
Her performance showed why she has earned the status of Pro Punter - a seven day profit just under $6K representing 144% POT and a cracking 37% strike rate.
Punters taking tips are usually presented with an even stake staking plan. Which means the profit is calculated as if the same amount of money was placed on each bet. Pro punters usually apply sophisticated staking plans which drive even greater value than simply picking winners in a race.
Taking the ''Even Stake'' option on the leaderboad shows HoldingAces only making $2,710 in profit. When we change it to "Actual Stake", the quality of HoldingAce's staking decisions are revealed, as her profit more than doubles.
Punters receive the staking information along with any comments placed by the tipster when they take tips from punters and Australia's racing media at theGreatTipOff.com.
It wasn't a complete female domination this week however, with David Taggart having a superb seven days too.
Taggart was on target with more than two-and-a-half grand of profit in the week. Tipping winners at an average price of $6.14 definitely helped.
But it was Taggart's consistency that has had punters talking, with 5 profitable days notched up from his last 7. A good sign with a glut of Group racing around the corner.
Tips from these form analysts can be found in the horse racing tips market, the only place where Australia's racing media tips appear along side punters.
