7/8/20 Best horse racing tips today

We're off to Australia's country music capital on Friday, as Tamworth hosts an eight-race card which looks full of value. 

The track is currently rated a Good 4 and light showers are forecast. 

The rail is out 2m from the 1000m to the 300m mark and True for the remainder of the circuit, so expect leaders and on-pace runners to dominate the day.

Blazing Tycoon in race 4 is one to keep your eye on in the stewards report. 

Last start at Rosehill, the Written Tycoon gelding was hampered when jumping before racing keenly in the middle stages.

For some distance after the 800m, he was steadied from heels and was held up for clear running between the 400m and 300m mark.

He gets the chance to improve coming back from Highway grade to the Country and the step back to 1200m won't be an issue.

Expect a much-improved run.

Greg Ryan has great riding stats at Coffs Harbour.

In the past 12 months, Ryan has had 72 mounts for 16 wins, at a 22% strike rate.

The hoop has a full book of rides today, with his best chance coming in race 8 on Xiaoli's Ying.

Tamworth Race 6 Tip #7 Shame Warned $6.50

The Shamus Award gelding has been up a long time now, but seems to be holding form nicely.

He wasn't overly fancied in the market last start at Tamworth, but exceeded expectations when sharing the spoils in a blanket finish.

He's two from two at this track and distance and retains the services of Ashley Morgan, who's steered him to two victories from three rides. 

From the wide draw here, expect Morgan to stroll forward and sit in the first four.

This will give him every chance in the straight and at each way odds, he's worth a bet.
