Best bets at Taree
Taree hosts Tuesday racing in NSW this week, with a tricky seven race card in front of us.
Given the significant rainfall over the past 48 hours however, punters will be hoping that the meeting goes ahead.
The track is rated a Heavy 8 and there's no chance of an upgrade.
With the rail out 4m from the 1100m to the winning post and true the remainder, expect on-pace runners to hold an advantage.
From the stewards
The horse that stands out in the pre-steward's report here is Baileys, who lines up in race 2.
The Fastnet Rock gelding is coming back from the Grafton Guineas, where he had excuses at massive odds.
He had to be eased as he entered the straight, when he was denied a run. He then raced in restricted room for the majority of the straight.
Back to an easier race and with even luck in running for home, he'll be competitive here.

Jockey to follow
Aaron Bullock rides the Taree track as well as any jockey.
In the past 12 months, the gun hoop has had 39 mounts at Taree for 10 wins, at a 26% strike rate.
Bullock has 3 rides today, with his best chance coming in race 5 on Without Conviction.
I've identified 3-races on today's card that represent good betting opportunities.

Taree Race 3 Tip #10 Royal Charge $7.00
The Charge Forward gelding did plenty of work over the 1000m last start and can go one better here from the soft draw.
In that clash, the leader just got away in the straight whilst Royal Charge was three-wide for the last 600m of the race.
He peeled out to the centre of the track and ran-on admirably, but gave the leader too much of a start.
He finds a nice a strong maiden race here, with La Girl the $1.70 favourite. However, that ensures we're getting a better price on Royal Charge.
He is drawn nicely in barrier 2 and can land on-speed for an economical run this time round.
The step-up to 1200m is ideal and Robert Thompson sticking with him is a positive push.
