5/6/20 Best horse racing tips today

We move on to racing at Taree on Friday, where a challenging eight-race card is highlighted by the Wingham Cup. 

The track is currently rated a Soft 5 and with mostly fine weather in the lead-up, punters should expect to be racing on a Good 4. 

The rail is in the True position and history shows that being in the leading group is an advantage at this track.

From the stewards

There are several runners of note who have featured heavily in the pre-steward's report for this meeting. 

The one I want to mention is Leave Me Some who lines up in Race 7.

Now I know it may seem unusual to expect a horse to improve off a win, especially one as dominant as this mare's was last start. However, I'm excited to see what she can do here.

She missed the kick by 2 lengths in that hit-out, but still managed to win the race by 2.3 lengths and run a quicker time than a key rival in this race, Fantasy Eagle.

Her form is good and she did run third to Adelong at Wyong last prep.

Now that she's broken her maiden, I expect her to make further improvement in this race and at $16 she is a brilliant each-way play.

Jockey to follow

Christian Reith has great statistics at Taree. 

Reith has had 24 rides here in the past 12 months, winning 6 at a strike rate of 25%.

Reith is booked for 6 rides, with his best ride coming in Race 3 on Dunoon.

 Taree Race 5 Tip #2 Fearnley $2.40

The I Am Invincible colt is shooting for two in-a-row and has found a very winnable race.

Last start he strolled to the lead on the heavy going at Coffs Harbour and proved too good for his opposition at nice-each way odds. 

He comes to Taree fighting fit and from a nice draw, looks to sit on-pace and prove hard to catch late. 

I expect Fearnley to trail Polar Star into the race, before peeling off  the gelding's heels and running away with the victory.
