Top tips for Friday racing at Wagga
Friday racing sees a competitive eight-race card at Wagga, with wide open fields offering plenty of value for punters.
With heavy rain earlier in the week, the track is currently sitting at a Heavy 8. Given the winter chill has set in, a track rating upgrade is unlikely.
I'll be steering towards horses who love the sting out of the track. With the rail out 4m for the entire circuit, as the day progresses expect runners to venture wider in the straight for superior ground.

Wagga Race 2 Tip #8 Royal Fighter $3.50
Local trainer Trevor Sutherland saddles up this three-year-old gelding by Sebring here, in a more than suitable race to break his maiden status.
Trevor has only had this gelding for two starts, but both runs this preparation have been eye catching.
First-up he performed well at this track on a Heavy 10, finishing third. This time around he goes up in distance to 1600m and given he was strong to the line in both runs so far, I expect him to prove too classy for some of these late.
The flashy chestnut gets the guidance of Blaike Mcdougall and from barrier 3, expect him to get a lovely cart into the race behind the front runners.
Look for his final 600m to be the difference, where he kicks away in the straight.
Wagga Race 3 Tip #9 Cash Or Credit $10 each way
Race 3 is a maiden plate over the 1300m. This looks like a competitive clash, where I expect to see a few winners come out of the race.
I've gone with the three-year-old filly trained by Ron Stubbs at a nice price.
Her last two runs have been impressive behind some talented horses, including a placing on a heavy track first-up.
With senior jockey Nick Souqet booked to ride, he should be able to place her close to the speed from the kind barrier.
With only a moderate tempo engaged, an aggressive ride from Souqet will provide us with real value on an each-way basis.
The $2.90 to run top 3 is too good to resist.
