Race caller's almost perfect night
It's the day that every punter dreams of. A winning bet from every race on the card.
On Saturday night, Sky Racing race caller and rising star Luke Marlow, tipped all but one winner on the ten race program at Richmond Greyhounds. Punters following his tips with $100 win bets on the night made a tidy $1,310 profit with winners paying as high as $4.70.
In a cruel twist, Marlow's only miss on the night in Race 3, Absolute Gunn, ran a close second finishing only a head behind race winner Ricky Boy. The official finishing print shows the winner Ricky Boy on the outside finishing in front by the smallest of margins.
Marlow's performance comes after Punters Club Hero posted an article last week which highlighted the outstanding tipping performance of Australian race callers. The article revealed the key reasons why race callers have a distinct advantage over average punters for picking winners.
- Race callers get greater exposure to horses, dogs and trotters, allowing them develop a deeper knowledge of their recent form and their racing characteristics.
- The job requires them to be on course and so they are regularly talking to trainers, owners and other racing personnel where they pick-up critical pre-race information.
- Watching so many races every week at a track creates a strong memory about how race tracks impact the outcome of a race.
Luke Marlow is one of the Australian racing industry's rising stars, who already early in his career has established himself as a respected race caller across all three codes of racing. With consistent profitable tipping results as he showcased at Richmond Greyhounds on Saturday night, there's no doubt we'll be listening to Luke for a long time to come.
