Pakenham Race 4 #6 Star Patrol $2.60

Star Patrol makes his Victorian debut tonight after coming down from Sydney.

Based off his Sydney trials, it looked as though he didn’t handle that way of going so that could be why he’s down here with Clinton McDonald.

Besides that factor, he is a horse with PLENTY of ability.

He's yet to salute from six starts, but has won all three trials/jumpouts in preparation for this and his last two were very slick.

This gelding maps to get a great run from barrier three and there isn’t much depth to this race.

I think he’s more of a $2 chance and the quoted price seems overs.

With the booking of Damien Oliver, this gelding will be very hard to beat and is the best of the night.

Barretta is an interesting galloper who makes his Australian debut after arriving from the UK.

He was very impressive when winning by 5.5L on debut over a mile at Navan and is a horse who is very talented.

His recent Flemington jump outs have been pretty solid and he's been gelded since arriving in Australia.

Expect Lindsay Park to have him forward enough for this first-up assignment.

Look for him to sit around midfield on settling. This won't be an issue, as they tend to run on towards the end of the card.

Watch him hit the line strongly and he could be an exciting prospect who will go through his grades in Australia.
