Extreme Slipper
Rosehill hosts a cracking day of racing on Saturday, as we get set for one of the most exciting events on the racing calendar.
The time honoured Golden Slipper will see a full field of sixteen 2YO's lock horns, competing for a thumping $5 million purse.
It shapes as a mouth-watering affair and Michael Gannon gives us his say on who will be crowned the best 2YO in Australia.
Rosehill Track Conditions
The surface at Rosehill is currently rated a Soft 7, with the rail out 2m for the entire circuit.
With rain about late in the week, the track could well remain rain affected.
At this set up, I expect the best going to be in lanes 4-10 in the straight.

The Map
- From the good draw, look for Queen Of The Ball (3) to be marked urgent. She's on the quick back up and must go forward
- Of those drawn wide, Best Of Bordeaux (10) and Rise Of The Masses (20) only know one way and will inject some serious speed into the race
- Favourite Coolangatta (14) has never settled further back than 4th and could well race fresh off a decent break. She could easily get caught 3-4 wide the trip
- There are a number of runners who map for suck runs. They include Shalatin (5), She's Extreme (6), Serjardan (7) and Daumier (8)
- Backmarker Jacquinot (11) will relish a fast run affair, but will need a Hugh Bowman peach from the rear
The Early Favourite - Coolangatta ($4.40)
She's got the runs on the board, but gee she's a massive risk in a high pressure Slipper.
The draw isn't favourable, nor is being first-up off an unusual prep.
I would have loved to have seen her have one race prior to this, and that alone is enough to ensure she's not a betting proposition.
Maher and Eustace are very good at what they do, but I'll be surprised if she can win at this set-up.

Best Racing Tips
1st. She's Extreme suggested she was on the rise when running a big 2nd to Fireburn at her second-career start.
She then produced a big win on Saturday and comes into this race 4th up and ready to peak on the quick back-up.
She's drawn ideally in barrier 6 and Brett Prebble is a big time jockey.
Look for Prebble to sit midfield one pair off the rails, before pinching runs through the middle and being right in the finish.
2nd. Shalatin was already qualified for the Slipper, so I'm not surprised his runs have been even in the lead up.
The booking of Nash Rawiller is perfect, this galloper has reached peak fitness and will jump out of the ground on Saturday.
He'll get the run of the race from barrier 5 and can very well cause a boil over.
3rd. Jacquinot has been unlucky at his last two runs.
With plenty of speed on, I expect him to get his chance and when they fan on the turn. look for Hugh Bowman to find the gaps through the middle of the field as this son of Rubick flies at the line.
