A Coolmore with a Sherry on top
Rosehill hosts a cracking day of racing with the Group 1 Coolmore Classic taking centre stage.
Punters have a cracking 10-race meeting to dive into, with 7 Group races on the card.
Track Conditions
The surface at Rosehill is currently rated a Heavy 10, with the rail is in the true position the entire circuit.
At this set up, I expect the best going to be in lanes 3-6 in the straight. Runners will find it very difficult to make ground from lanes 8 and beyond on a wet track.

The Map
- There looks strong of speed on paper with Yes Baby Yes (2) set to drive through to hold a prominent position. Vangelic (14) and Expat (8) will go forward from their draws.
- Espiona (4) will no doubt be ridden with some vigour to hold a spot. If she doesn't muster early, it could be good night for her.
- Polly Grey (1) and Lighthouse (5) both map for soft runs in transit and will have crack at the tiring leaders, should runs present.
The Early Favourite - Espiona ($4.20)
She's quickly becoming a money munchy for punters.
With only 50kg from a good barrier, she can be ridden a little more positive from the gates.
If Jay Ford can land in the top 8 in the run, then she will prove very hard to beat.
Best Racing Tips
Expat is a proper race horse, who has now won 8 from 13 starts.
She has won up to 1600m on rain affected going, so the 1500m on a Heavy track poses no issues come Saturday.
Her racing style is ideal for this Rosehill track and drawing barrier 8, is ideal for her.
Look for Tommy Sherry to stroll across in his own time, land outside the leaders and attempt to put a gap in his rivals on the home turn.
Lighthouse was great last week, when running 1.8L off Forbidden Love.
She's on the quick back back up and has once again drawn ideally, in barrier 5.
She loses J-Mac, but Jason Collett can rise to the occasion, especially given how simple his task his.
Jump, land in the first 6, find clean air and produce late. She handles the rain affected going and looks a huge chance.
Mirror Vision trialled like the second-coming of Winx, before running 5th and 6th respectively.
She gets to a suitable set up and and will peak 3rd up, with the only issue being the wide draw.
A decisive Sam Clipperton ride is all she needs to land forward of midfield with cover and if she does, watch out. $34 is a huge price for this girl and even though she'll need luck, she can produce a big run.
