Two Big, Too Strong
The Racing NSW slot-holder concept continues to thrive with the third running of The Kosciuszko to offer a cracking "curtain-raiser" to the feature race, the Everest, which highlights a blockbuster Randwick card.
A rich Kosciuszko showcases the best of our country and provincial horses and gives our country owners a chance to compete for huge prize money.
A field of 14 will battle it out over the Randwick 1200m under set-weight conditions, in what shapes to be a cracking encounter.
Track Conditions

Randwick Race 5 - The Kosciuszko 1200m
The Map
There will be solid speed engaged as always in this race, and you can expect four horses to battle it out for the front early.
Look for Man of Peace (9) and Fender (3) to take up the leading spots, with Two Big Fari (6) and Front Page (8) likely to be just behind them.
Redouble (1) will settle in behind the leading pack, with defending champ Handle The Truth (13), Lord Von Costa (2), Al Mah Haha (5) and Ice In Vancouver (12) rounding out the midfield.
The likes of Irish Songs (4), the poorly drawn Anthehole (14), Ligulate (11), Intuition (10) and It's Me (7) will settle towards the rear.
The Favourite
It's Me ($2.20) is a deserved favourite, but she has come up very short in early markets.
She burst onto the scene in August and since then, has stormed home for three wins for 7.3 lengths in total. This will be her toughest test to date and although she has been freshened, she will be on her fourth run in her first preparation.
The mare is going to settle towards the rear and will get the last crack at them, but is that the place you want to be? She is talented and her closing sectionals are brilliant, but she's at an unbackable price now.
She can win, but it will be without me. Good luck to the connections!
Analysis and Tips
We are being offered a silly, silly price here for Two Big Fari ($17.00).
Unlike a few of his rivals here, this bloke has been set for this race and put the writing on the wall in July with a nice win.
His first-up record is brilliant, he is drawn well to get into a perfect position and he can run solid time.
His only run outside of the top 3 was on a heavy track in the Country Championship final, where he finished fifth by 0.6 lengths which is hardly a failure.
The gelding is well weighted (56.6kgs) and Grant Buckley will ride him for the fifth time, having previously steered him to three wins and a second.
How good will the story be not only for the trainer and connections, but for Grant Buckley whose wife will be giving birth soon? This could be a nice way to kick off their trust fund.
