Pro punters just pip media experts
At the top of the pops for the most cash profit over the past week was NarraweenaNags, who recorded $4,340 from $100 bets over the past seven days. A proud local of Narraweena on Sydney's North Shore, this Pro punter was on fire, picking no less than 87 winners at an average price of $4.42.
Another Pro punter who had a terrific week was Robbospicks. He notched up the second most profit with a healthy $3,270 from $100 win bets.
Take a closer look at Robbospicks' stats and you'll see why he's a Pro. His 78% Profit on Turnover (POT) and 45% strike rate over the past week are formidable numbers, and they're the reason why he raked in such a hefty pay packet.
While these Pros excelled, the media experts weren't far behind, picking up the 3rd and 4th places for most profit.
Standing on the podium was Michael Manley from the Herald Sun. Manley is one of the newspaper's most accomplished form experts and columnists, regularly profiting on Melbourne's metro meets and providing his insight in his weekly "The Early Oil" column.
In the past seven days, Manley found just shy of three grand of cash for his followers, at an impressive 73% POT. His 44% strike rate is also a coup for a newspaper journo, who is forced to enter his tips days in advance to meet editorial deadlines.
Greg Polson from Racenet filled out the First Four for most profit with a handy $2,380. Polson's tireless effort assessing form seven days a week was rewarded with some brilliant stats from his week's effort.
He was the only tipster from the top four to achieve a triple figure profit percentage - 103% POT.
His juicy average winning price of $7.80 highlights Polson's ability to consistently find a diamond in the rough as he did at Muswellbrook last Thursday where he tipped Ayham, that saluted at $23.70.
Returning to Pro Punter status, EvilMonkey deserves a mention for yet another accomplished tipping display. The Queensland punter made $1,730 for 28% POT this week. That effort came off the back of his runner-up award for the Tipster of the Month in December after finishing on 66% POT from no less than 126 tips.
Our resident racing form analyst Matt Buckland had a superb tipping week, earning $1,700 for anyone who followed his selections with $100 bets. Buckland's POT was one of the best at a whopping 94%.
He had a day to remember at Flemington on Saturday, steering punters into five winners including Set To Sparkle at odds of $12.20 in race 6. This was Buckland's third profitable tipping day from his previous five, demonstrating that he is a man in red-hot form.
Finally, we couldn't go without mentioning John Hourihan from Winning Post, who found $1.5 grand in profit at a monster 166% POT. This took Hourihan up to 6 profitable days from his last 9, indicating that like Buckland, he is a tipster in a rich vein of form.
