Rosehill is the venue for a great day of racing on Saturday, with strong fields set to compete for five Group events across the nine-race card.
The highlight of Saturday afternoon is sure to be the running of the Golden Rose Stakes for the three-year-old's, which sees the 'Thriller from Chinchilla' shoot for Group One glory on the way to the Everest.
The Group 2 Golden Pendant backs up the main event, in what is set to be a blockbuster day of racing.
The Rosehill track is currently rated a Good 4, with sunshine forecast for Sydney in the lead up.
I expect the track to play leaderish throughout the day, with the ideal ground being in lanes 1-4.
The Map
Look for Yardstick (7) to cross and lead.
Rothfire (8) will have a similar set-up to last start and he'll have Yardstick in his sights until the home turn.
Peltzer (2) will no doubt kick up and be prominent, while the Waller pair Global Quest (4) and Sauvestre (5) can be handy from the good draws.
Of the others, expect North Pacific (6) to sit mid-field while King's Legacy (9) will go back.
Look for Ole Kirk (3) and Mamaragen (1) to sit more forward than previous starts.
The Favourite
Rothfire is a deserved favourite at $1.90 as he demolished a similar field last start in the Run to the Rose.
He stalked Golden Slipper champ Farnan the whole way at this track, before pushing the button and streaking away for a 1.5 length victory.
The 1400m isn't a worry which he showed when winning the J J Atkins last prep, and he gets a similar set-up to his last start triumph.
If there are any queries, it's whether he'll be as dynamic here following the huge first-up run.
Analysis and Tips
Rothfire $1.90 looks the logical play here, as his rivals would need to improve significantly to get close.
I'd be happy to have something small on North Pacific $6.00. His closing sectionals in the Run to the Rose were good, but he was too far off Rothfire to make an impact.
If they can sit a little closer to the gun three-year-old in this clash, he may just have a shot.
The Map
Despite the stable opting for different tactics last start, Positive Peace (1) should go forward here.
Adelong (7) will sit on-pace, while Sweet Deal (10) has drawn better than last start and can push forward.
Haut Brion Her (15) has drawn poorly and will be forced to push forward early, and will need some luck to settle in an economic position.
Emeralds (2) and Air to Air (4) have drawn well and can sit closer to the speed.
The Favourite
Haut Brion Her has opened the $2.30 favourite and you wouldn't want her much shorter from the wide draw.
She saluted with what looked like ease last start and was the only on-pace runner to make an impact.
She will show genuine improvement off that run and will be looking to maintain her perfect second-up record.
Her career record is remarkable (9:6-3-0) and there is no doubt she's the class horse of the race.
The speed map isn't ideal but she has the brilliance to win this.
Analysis and Tips
Sweet Deal $8.50 looks a good bet at those odds.
The mare was impressive last start in the Sheraco Stakes against the majority of this field. She came across from barrier 16 and did a mountain of work to lead.
She had no right to finish 2.3 lengths off the winner in that clash and is better suited from barrier 10 in this.
She will be at peak fitness now and gets a 2kg swing on the favourite as well as a 1.5kg swing on her other rivals from the Sheraco.
This is her pet distance and she'll get the chance to make light work of her opposition like she did first-up.
