Another week, another winner with Dashing Duchess getting the chocolates at the early identified $7 quote.
With Spring almost here, the higher quality horses are starting to return and feature in our Market Movers selections.
At Caulfield the market is in love with Blake Shinn, and him taking the ride provides an excellent guide to the horse’s chances.
While at Rosehill the same can be said about J Mac who although over-bet at times, does provide a good indication of when a horse is ready to win.

Rhapsody Chic
Is simply flying and has now won his past 4, working through the grades nicely since the Maiden win in NZ.
This will be a stiff test, however he does have runs on the board in Saturday city class with his past two wins coming at Randwick and Caulfield.
“The wetter the better” for him here and if he strikes another Heavy track rating he could be unbeatable!
Alecrona
The Blake Shinn booking says it all with this rider dominating in Melbourne racing at the moment and taking his pick of all the best rides.
Blake was on her for the last start win at Pakenham and must have felt enough to remain aboard now up to metro class.
They will show good intent to be midfield in the moving line, ready to peel and win as they like.
Vagrant
Above average mare who must be showing the stable plenty behind closed doors leading into this first-up assignment.
She does have a good fresh record (3:1-1-0) and Mitchell Freedman is likely to have here fully wound up to fit this profile, with this race the main early target for the preparation.
Pinstriped
Gun sprinter/miler who has Group 1 form and on his day can mix it with the stars.
First-up (6:2-2-0) is very good and as per the record, the trainer will be looking to capitalise on this and have him ready to go.
From gate 5 they should receive an ideal smother midfield in the moving line, just tucked in behind the leading division.
Given any tempo he can drop on them late.
Autumn Glow
Races for the influential owner and was gifted to Waller for training purposes, who will be keen to repay the faith.
With the motivation high and a new mandate to showcase this breed in a favourable light, expect the stable to have her wound right up and ready to win.
She must be showing plenty at home to warrant a first-up assignment here!
Shangri La Express
Was shaping up to be one of Gai/Bott’s leading 2yo’s, when presented early in the season with two dominant on-pace wins.
Now returning at 3 he should have benefited from the break away, and with natural growth and development he is likely to improve on the 2yo heroics.
He comes out of the Golden Slipper run to round out last preparation, and as is typical of the stable he should be very forward in condition and ready for this.
Etna Rosso
J Mac jumps aboard which is an excellent guide in itself, as he represents a significant upgrade from the recent rider and usually goes on when they are ready.
He showed enough first-up at Randwick when placing 3 of 9, to indicate he is right on target for this second-up.
Out to 1900m now, the extra 100m suits and should allow enough time for him to wind up and storm home over the top.
El Roko
Interesting runner who travels from Victoria by a stable that rarely comes north.
The yard is shrewd and may be setting this one up for a bet, by achieving a better price in stronger Sydney grades.
If more money arrives close to the start time, he will go very close.
Yes.
