Eagle Farm Race 3 Tip #3 Jubai Pride $4.00
This 4YO mare has turned out to be such consistent performer over her short career so far.
At her last start, she chased home another mare named Eloquently who has won 6 races on the trot.
There was a lot of merit in the run finishing only 1.5 lengths third in a much harder grade.
At the run prior, Jubai burst away from the pack for a comfortable win in BM62 grade.
For this weekend's race, apprentice Jaden Lloyd claims 3kgs meaning the mare has to only carry 56kg.
Lloyd has been one of the most in-form QLD jockeys recently. From his last 20 rides, he has had 7 winners striking at 35%.
Expect Lloyd to allow his mount to settle midfield in the run and work her into the race after straightening.
The daughter of Pride Of Dubai will have plenty of time to reel them in down the long straight.
She looks a great chance and has an in-form jockey to guide her home.
Moonee Valley Race 8 Tip #9 Miss Albania $4.00
This lightly raced 5YO mare really proved her class, with a last start victory over the Flemington straight.
She was able to settle a lot better than previous runs and chased hard to run down Oxley Road.
For this weekend, Jamie Kah gets the reigns and she will settle Miss Albania behind Ancestry in the run.
There is no doubting Ancestry is the proven runner in the field but first-up and with 3kgs more for this clash, this puts Miss Albania right in the frame.
Miss Albania's previous run over the 1000m at The Valley was for a win in 57.71 seconds, a very fast time.
Randwick Race 5 Tip #1 Best Stone $13.00
After a long 10 month spell, Best Stone returned to the races a fortnight ago.
The first-up effort had plenty of merit, as he found trouble before the bend and got shuffled back amongst the chasing pack.
Best Stone stuck on to run only 3.5 lengths behind the winner Valaquenta.
Second-up he looks primed for a big run. A few question marks remain revolving around who will ride him on Saturday.
Nash Rawiller unfortunately broke his foot at Hawksbury on Thursday and a replacement rider has yet to be booked.
Despite the rider change, the tactics will be the same. The plan will be to jump cleanly from barrier 16 and take Best Stone to the front, a position he enjoys where he can dictate tempo.
This race lacks any notable pace setters besides Turnstyle, so expect the two to pair off up front.
With fitness now on his side, I expect Best Stone to put in a big run at a very tempting quote.
Eagle Farm Race 8 Tip #11 So Clever $2.10
Happy to forgive his last start.
He did everything right that race, with the blinkers on for the first time. This likely was the key to his better manners at the barriers.
He just didn’t run past the leader who ran slick time.
The previous run he did everything wrong and only just missed.
He was slowly away, hampered at the start, over-raced, hung out and beaten 0.2 lengths.
For this weekend's clash, he gets an in-form apprentice on in Jayden Lloyd who is striking at 35% from his last 20 starts.
With blinkers on again and back to 1000m he will lead for fun.
It is worth noting this is where you want to be at Eagle Farm lately, and this son of Choisir will take some beating.
Wangaratta Race 1 Tip #11 Benczkowski $ TBD
I was almost ready to toss a coin to decide the best for the day between this guy and Dignified Doubt in the next.
I went with Benczkowski due to the opposition he was matching motors with in the most recent jump-out.
Down the Cranbourne straight, he was alongside the likes of Zerelle and Footlights, with the latter subsequently winning on debut over 1400m.
Ripper Rita was behind them and we know that she is a talented mare.
Keep in mind if it will be concerning if the track becomes heavy. The jump-out before the most recent one was on a heavy surface and he didn’t want to let down at all. The tongue tie goes on for this clash, which may be an attempt to correct some of his issues that day.
If he can begin well from the tough barrier, expect him to get a lovely run and unleash in the straight.
Belmont Race 9 Tip #3 Notorious One $2.20
Notorious One is a high class gelding, who at times is his own worst enemy.
He can do a lot wrong in races but has still managed 6 wins from 12 starts just on the back of his raw talent.
Three starts back he won a 72+, a grade in which he finds himself back in today.
Notorious One is 5 starts for 4 wins at Belmont and handles all surfaces.
The speed doesn't appear to be strong so from barrier 1, Notorious One will settle midfield the fence.
He has a powerful finish so long as he gets clear running at them his class should prevail.
