Arrives here 6th-up, rock hard fit, and ready to win following a strong 2nd placing last start in BM82 Country grade at Wagga.
This is an easier race, and with the 3kg claim for Coriah Keatings, he drops in weight to carry only 52kg.
Drawn ideally on the inside, he should land right behind the speed and enjoy the run of the race.
A proven performer over 1400m in Highway grade, Salute Again gets a golden chance to break through again in what looks like a very winnable edition of the Highway.
We’ve been following Pure Alpha through his past two runs, and after failing to see out 1700m, he bounced back last start when finishing off well over 1500m here at Rosehill.
On that occasion, Edited By was able to stack them and sprint home, but Pure Alpha was one of the best closers in the race, despite being held up near the 200m.
A repeat of that run, with a touch more luck, will see him right in the finish.
Drawn barrier 1, he’ll land on speed and get every possible chance to fight out the finish in what looks a suitable race.
