Race 5 No.5 – Spywire $2.80
Returned as a gelded horse and should arguably have won first-up behind King’s Secret, a galloper who has since franked the form.
Spywire had no luck at a vital stage, and still nearly pulled off the win giving the winner 1.5kg.
Gets a much more favourable setup here and should be too strong second-up with a cleaner run.
Expect him to stamp himself as a genuine spring player.
Race 4 No.11 – Sister Daae $7.00
Stormed over the top of a subsequent winner first-up, then went back in trip second-up where the pattern of the day gave her no hope.
Despite that, she still made good ground and looks well suited rising back in distance.
The form around her reads well, she gets a winnable setup here and $7 represents real value if they’re making ground.
