Another good track at Rosehill paints the picture for another punter's day.
The rail is out 6m. It was 3m here last meeting and the inside lanes were not the place to be.
With a drier track and the current rail position, those on-pace/ inside will not be disadvantaged.
Rosehill Race 6 #14 Petulant $5.50
She returned to the races on what was a bottomless heavy 11 track at Warwick Farm and was great.
The trial leading into this prep suggested this 3YO filly had returned in great order and was ready to take the next step in her racing career.
First up, she had to work early to lead and this created a crazy tempo, dictating at 7.2 lengths faster than the average to the 600m mark.
For her to stick on and still be there in the last 50m was a brave effort.
She has speed and a likable on-pace racing pattern.
Look for a big 2nd up run here with a couple of key changes in her favour.
Back on a dry deck over 1100m at Rosehill is her perfect race.
The 1100m start at Rosehill favours heavily those up on the pace.
She’ll find the front from barrier 10 and be mighty hard to run down.
Profiles perfectly to take out her first Saturday metro win.
Rosehill Race 8 #7 Easifar $9.50
This mare by Pride Of Dubai was ultra-impressive over the unsuitable 1200m last start, when running 1.39 lengths 3rd to Per Inaway.
She steps straight up to the 1500m which is ideal given she's coming off a staying campaign.
She's a three-time winner between 1400m-1600m, so the distance is no issue, nor is the return to a dry deck which she relishes.
She's shown early speed in the majority of her starts, so from barrier 9 with the 2kg claim, we can expect her to land on speed and give us a huge sight.
Rosehill Race 4 #14 Kopangi $13.00
I tipped this Ocean park gelding two weeks back and I am sticking strong.
He has been racing consistently well for a while now and is deserving of win number 3.
When they clashed at their last start, race favourite for this event Willinga Rufio, got an absolute picnic in front.
Kopangi got a lovely ride midfield along the rail and was able to run on off the slow tempo to finish third, beaten only 3 lengths.
For this weekend's event, the race shape is completely different and I am predicting a hot tempo.
More importantly, all the early speed is out wide, creating a genuine charge to the first bend.
From the middle draw, Kopangi can push up behind the leading division to once again sit midfield with cover.
He also returns back onto a good surface, the first run for him this year on top of the ground.
Jay Ford who has ridden him at his last two starts sticks on board and he looks great value at the current quote.
Each-way all-day.
