Fighting his way to the top of the pile this week was veteran punter Sandgroper, whose profit surpassed ten grand in seven days. To be precise, Sandgroper managed to haul in $11,840 from $100 win bets on each of his tips. 

The key to Sandgroper's massive profit over this short period was a combination of a good strike rate and the big odds from his tips that saluted, with his winners averaging a very healthy $11.17. 

This incredible effort was also reflected in Sandgroper's Profit on Turnover (POT) percentage. From a massive output of 105 tips, Sandgroper's POT of 113% was astonishing. Not surprisingly, he also led the way with the highest POT for punters and tipsters who posted at least 5 tips this week.

The week's top media tipster was Greg Spletter, from Super Racing who earnt $4,450 in profit from 17 winning tips at an impressive strike rate of 30%. Spletter's effort is even more special when you consider that he covers at least 6 race meetings per week, with a selection in each race, and posts his tips upto 48 hours before they jump. That's a lot of form to cover without the advantage of the late post race information like market movers, specific track conditions and scratchings to use for your assessment.

Along with Spletter, three of his News Limited colleagues, Paul Micallef and Shayne OCass from Super Racing, and Steve Zammit from the Daily Telegraph's racing guide, found themselves in the top 10 for total profit this week. That's four News racing analysts making up the Top 10 profit makers over the seven day period.
