We return to Caulfield for a competitive Saturday meeting.
The track is currently rated a Good 4, however there is expected rain before the weekend and the surface is will be in the Soft range.
The rail is out 9m for the entire circuit. Last time they raced here it was out 6m with no clear bias evident.
This 3YO gelding is shaping as an emerging sprint star.
There are no doubts his connections, and trainers M,W and J Hawkes have aspirations for him to be a competitor in Group races.
They are being patient with him and are slowly stepping him through his grades to get plenty of experience.
He resumed from a spell last start, with an easy win over 1100m.
On that occasion he sat off the speed and sprinted home powerfully to record his fourth straight win.
What made the win even more impressive was him recording the fastest time of all three 1100m races on the day.
For this weekend's assignment he rises in weight, but he’s back against his own age group.
He will bounce straight to the front and be giving them all something to chase down.
His trainer Mike Moroney scratched him from the Warrnambool Cup on Thursday in preference for this race.
This looks ideal as he returns to 2000m at Caulfield.
Since travelling to Australia you could make a case that his best performances have come at this track.
Last start, he won the Group 3 Easter Cup in an impressive fashion, driving to the line under jockey Patrick Moloney .
Moloney retains the ride and from barrier three he’ll take up a forward position once again.
Whilst he rises 3.5kg in weight, he’s a promising middle distance galloper in the making.
He will be at peak fitness 4th up and go forward to offset any bad luck equations.
