Morphettville hosts a huge day of racing on Saturday, with two Group 1 features and an excellent card to support these key fillies and mares races.
A win or top four placing for any of the fillies and mares racing in the features will increase their breeding value significantly.
In the Robert Sangster Stakes, I have to be with the intriguing Waller runner who drops back in distance and could simply blow these away from a class angle.
Whilst in the Australasian Oaks, I am again with the same stable and believe they can pull off the big Adelaide Group 1 double with a well timed raid.
The Morphettville surface is currently rated a Good 4, with the rail in the True position for the entire circuit.
Mostly fine conditions are predicted for the remainder of the week and on Saturday in Adelaide.
With the rail in the True position, expect the track to race fair with both on-speed and run-on profiles to have their chance.
Refer to the early races for a good guide on track bias.
There looks to be a genuine tempo here, with Night Raid (13), Sisstar (9) and Mizzy (1) all set to apply pressure early.
Expect Sisstar (9) to eventually win the battle for the lead and she will be looking for a cheap sectional at some point through the mid-stages.
The back-marker profiles of Brooklyn Hustle (15) and Instant Celebrity (6) will both be hoping for fireworks up front, and are some chance to get that if others are keen to lead.
Instant Celebrity ($6.50) is lightly raced (6:4-0-1) and arrives here second-up following a huge campaign last time in (won 4 from 5), and a solid hit-out first up.
She has plenty of quality and should be prepared to the minute by in the in-form Phillip Stokes yard.
With her run-on profile, there are some speed map concerns in this if the race is only moderately run. However, there looks to be a decent enough tempo to allow her to run home hard.
She should take good improvement from the first-up run and I expect this to be the target race.
Subpoenaed is an interesting runner, who has been sent by the powerful Waller yard.
She drops back in distance which should suit if the race is run at a hot tempo and she is sure to be one of the strongest late.
Trust the Sydney form to hold up very well against most of these runners, where she has a huge class edge. Could simply blow them all away.
Sisstar should lead or race very close to speed and given any cheap sectionals throughout, expect her to be hard to catch.
She has won her past three starts and will be well found by the market, however at the current $10 I'm still happy to play.
Instant Celebrity would have been set for this race and second-up, should be primed to win.
Phillip Stokes is a gun trainer and will be highly motivated to win a race like this, back on his old stomping ground.
The booking of Craig Williams is key and provided they can run-on, expect her to be in the finish.
Include Humma Humma for wider bet types, as she enjoys this track (8:2-2-0) and will be rock hard fit fourth-up.
The stable love a bet and if more money arrives late, it could pay to follow.
1st Subpoenaed
2nd Sisstar
3rd Instant Celebrity
4th Humma Humma
Tasmanian raider Hela (3) appears to be the natural leader here, with Flying Mascot (12) and Chica Fuerte (8) to also race close to speed.
A number of others can also push forward early, including Ecumenical (15) and Tychee Goddess (5). This should ensure a genuine tempo throughout.
The run-on profiles of Mozzie Monster (14) and Steinem (1) will both need a good speed, and can be charging late off a strong gallop.
Steinem ($4.40) was beaten as an odds on ($1.60) favourite here last start, where there was clearly a lack of intent and the horse was too far back to threaten.
She draws terribly in gate 1, where there is a huge risk that she simply does not see any daylight in this field with other riders/horses hemming her in throughout.
No doubt if the breaks come and she finds clean air, she will be the one rattling home over the top. Needs some luck.
I'm with Brookspire who is absolutely flying this preparation and won well last start at Caulfield over 1600m.
This will be her first try up to 2000m, however trust the gun stable have had this race in mind for a long time now. She appears excellent value at the current $10.
Sirileo Miss is from the shrewd Simon Wilde camp, who have a knack with young staying horses and a sense of timing with her in this race.
She was good last start when placing 3 of 16 here in the Auraria Stakes at Group 3 level over 1800m and can improve again now out to 2000m.
The Craig Williams booking and current price ($21) both say yes.
Steinem was ultra dominant winning her first two starts, then had genuine excuses last time out here when no intent was shown.
There are significant speed map concerns from the inside gate if she gets well back. However with any luck weaving through, expect her to go close.
Personal has plenty of quality and will have no problems running this trip right out.
She arrives via possibly the strongest form-line of the Group 1 Vinery Stakes, where not all appeared to be right with her. She could easily bounce back to winning form here.
