Another weight-for-age tactical showdown awaits in the Group 1 Ranvet Stakes.
As normal, the focus is squarely on star mare Via Sistina who lines up third-up and is ready to peak after a tough win in the Group 1 Verry Elleegant Stakes over a mile.
The key question for punters is whether her rivals can conjure up a tactical masterclass to bring her down, or if she simply proves too strong once again.
With Lindermann expected to control the tempo from the front, UK raider Al Mubhir resuming, and Fawkner Park looking to unleash a big finish, there are intriguing angles to this contest.
But will it be enough to stop the dominant favourite?

The Good 4 surface with the rail out 3m should provide a fair racing pattern, but there is a slight advantage to those on or near the speed, making early race positioning critical.
Lindermann will roll across from out wide to take up the lead, with Golden Path likely to trail in behind him.
Zarakem should push through from the inside draw to settle near the speed, while Via Sistina maps beautifully to enjoy an ideal run in the next pair alongside Full Count Felicia.
Fawkner Park and Al Mubhir will settle just worse than midfield, looking to launch their runs late.
There’s no denying her class.
She’s proven bulletproof over this distance and the tempo looks to suit.
She was strong late in the Verry Elleegant and any improvement from that run makes her near impossible to beat.
She’s fit, in form, and maps perfectly.
The only question is what price you’re willing to take.
This race is hers to lose.
The value play is to stand her out in exotics, with Lindermann, Al Mubhir, Fawkner Park, and Golden Path filling the placings.
Lindermann ($9.50) is a genuine WFA competitor who backs up quickly after last week’s third in the Group 3 Sky High Stakes.
The drop back to 2000m suits and if he’s left alone in front, he could take some catching.
Al Mubhir ($8.00) is a UK raider and has class. His Group 3 placing at Longchamp last year was impressive.
If he’s fit enough first-up, he’ll be closing strongly.
