Racing returns to Flemington this Saturday with the rail out 5m and with recent meetings playing fairly, expect tempo to be the key factor in determining race outcomes.
The track is in top shape, and we’re looking to build the bank early in the card with a confident selection.
But before we get to that, let’s kick off the day the right way and land an early winner in Race 1.
Jack continues to nail his best bets at a good rate!
Is It Me, a five-year-old gelding from the Bowman stable, is flying this preparation, producing back-to-back peak ratings with jockey Billy Egan in the saddle.
There’s no reason he can’t replicate that form again here.
The race shape looks ideal, with plenty of early speed expected, setting it up for him to unleash his trademark finishing burst.
His form at the track and distance is outstanding – four starts for two wins and two seconds – highlighting his liking for Flemington’s straight.
Furthermore, the form around him has been franked, with a subsequent winner and runner-up emerging from his recent efforts.
Many of his rivals here are first-up runners building towards longer trips, which only enhances his chances of striking while rock-hard fit.
With a truly run race, anything over $1.90 represents excellent value, and Is It Me looks like the one to beat.
Expect him to be storming home late and proving too strong for his opposition.
