Newcastle's big Group 2 race day, The Hunter, has been run and won with a stack of quaility racing on display on Saturday.
Mick Gannon has run through the data and replays across the ten race progam to find the key horses to follow out of the meet.
Race 1 Buffalo
Impressed on debut after beginning awkwardly and losing ground at the start. Despite the setback, he managed to run the fastest L400/200/100m of the meeting all while racing in restricted room until the 150m mark.
Looking forward to seeing him line-up next time.
Race 5 Melody Again
Spotted the leaders 6.3L at the 400m on a day when it was near impossible to make up ground. She rattled home to run the eighth fastest L400m of the meeting.
She finished 1.2L behind Watch My Girl with the race shape and track bias against her.
Race 8 Briasa
Raced wide throughout but did what only the good horses do and stuck his neck out on the line. He will be a Group 1 contender in the Autumn.
Keep an eye out for Chrysaor in the next few weeks, he had plenty to do in this race and couldn't bridge the margin this time, but he'll be winning very soon.
