The Melbourne Cup Carnival at Flemington rolls on to Oaks Day this Thursday, with a cracking nine-race card ahead.
The Sydney trained Montefilia is the short priced favourite for the feature race and has drawn perfectly in barrier 5.
The track will be rated a Good 4, with fine but cool weather forecast in Melbourne throughout the day.
Flemington Race 1 Tip #2 November Dreaming $2.80
This Tavistok mare was dominant over the 1400m at Geelong and is ready to run to a new peak and blow these away.
She's returned in fine order and was dead-set jogging until she found clean air in that first-up hit-out, before romping to a 2 length victory.
It's obvious she has a tonne of raw ability and she can be fractious in the yard, so she'll be better suited with no crowds at Flemington on Thursday.
The step-up to 1700m is ideal and although her Flemington record doesn't appear flash (2:0-0-1), she performed well on both of those occasions after finishing within a length of victory.
Her second-up record (2: 2-0-0) suggests she'll be ready to go and with even luck from back in the field, expect her to be too good.
Flemington Race 9 Tip #6 Written Beauty $2.35
This Written Tycoon filly shattered Deep Field's Canterbury 1100m track record (1:03.04) first-up from a spell, after running an impressive 1:02.98.
She then went to The Valley and broke Nature Strip's track record. Granted it was a fast track, but she did it from mid-field in what was an eye-catching performance.
There is no doubt this girl will be a stronger conveyance after maturing over the Autumn, but she can dominate her rivals here before being sent for a spell.
She's drawn perfectly in barrier 16 and retains the services of a patient William Pike. Put simply, she has lengths of ability on her rivals and with even luck down the Flemington straight, she'll blow them away.
