We're heading to the NSW Central Coast on Thursday, as Gosford hosts a tough eight race card.
The track is currently rated a Good 4, however there is a chance of rain in the lead-up so expect a Soft 5 at worst.
The rail is in the True position which will favour those in the front half of the field. Those horses coming from well back will need luck in the run.
From the stewards
The horse to look out for from the steward's report is Chasing Comets, who runs around in race 7.
He missed the jump by 2 lengths at his last start, before flying home in 35.38 for the final 600m to miss out on the win by under a length.
He is going to love the step up to the mile for this clash and looks fit and ready to go.
With the claim of 1.5kg for Tom Sherry, he gets in nicely and can bounce back today.
This Wandjina mare looks primed to strike here fourth-up into her preparation.
Things didn't start smoothly at her last start at Hawkesbury, as she lost her off-hind plate on the way to the gates and needed to be re-plated.
After being passed fit to start, she had to be steadied to avoid heels at the 1200m mark before having difficulty obtaining clear running in the home straight. Once she got clear with 300m to go, she almost chased down eventual winner Castel Sant'angelo.
With three runs under her belt, her fitness looks to be nearing its peak which is ideal for this 1900m journey.
A winner at this track and distance previously, she looks perfectly placed on the drier surface and has drawn ideally in barrier 5.
Look for jockey Regan Bayliss to land one pair back off the fence, which will give her an ideal transit throughout the race.
Providing he can get the mare to relax in the run, she'll be very hard to beat.
Race 5: 1, 13, 14, 15
Race 6: 1, 8
Race 7: 2, 5, 6, 8, 9
