We head to the south of Sydney on Monday afternoon for a competitive seven race card at Goulburn racecourse.
The track is currently rated a Good 4 and fine weather is forecast throughout the day.
The rail is in the true position for the entire circuit and at this set-up, punters can expect a fair racing surface with all horses getting their chance.
Sam Clipperton has 14 rides at Goulburn since the start of this season.
As you'd expect, the seasoned metropolitan rider has great stats when venturing to this race track with 4 victories at a strike rate of 28.57%.
Clipperton has 3 rides at Goulburn today, with his best chance coming in Race 5 aboard Vivenzo for Adrian Bott and Gai Waterhouse.
This son of Written Tycoon showed plenty of tenacity on debut at Nowra, after being caught wide throughout the trip.
Given he was slowly away and then forced wide, his effort to finish 3.1 lengths off the winner was full of merit.
The favourite and clear danger in today's race, Carlisle Bay, finished runner-up in that clash. However, that galloper clearly had the better of the two runs and doesn't have the same upside as Vivenzo.
Vivenzo will take significant improvement from that debut run and the addition of the in-form Sam Clipperton is a huge plus.
Given he's drawn inside the favourite, Clipperton will be able to hold a more prominent spot than his rival. If that unfolds, the case he should be too strong in the run to the line.
