FREE Ipswich Horse Racing Tips from Rick Morris 17/6/23 |
|
The Ipswich Turf Club has geared up for its highly anticipated annual Cup Day, and punters are flocking to the thrilling carnival in search of winning bets.
Resident tipster Rick Morris from theGreatTipOff.com has carefully analysed the fields and selected a best bet to kickstart the day on a high note.
Ipswich Best Bet from Rick Morris
His top pick for the day is Sailor's Secret, running in Race 2 and currently priced at $3.00.
Sailor's Secret is a dual acceptor who appears to be well suited to this non-metropolitan win race, particularly due to the fact that he carries the same weight (54 kgs) as some of his lower-rated competitors.
Throughout his current campaign, Sailor's Secret has displayed impressive form, securing a win and two second-place finishes in five starts.
In his most recent outing, Sailor's Secret put in a solid effort, only to be chased down in the final moments by the formidable Sunfall.
This performance holds considerable weight, as Sunfall had previously been narrowly defeated by Brigantine, who went on to secure a third-place finish at listed level in his subsequent run.
With this connection in mind, Sailor's Secret's form lines up favourably for the upcoming race.
To further enhance his chances, jockey Ben Thompson takes over the reins, a change that is likely to bring positive momentum.
Thompson is expected to push Sailor's Secret forward and provide him with every opportunity to showcase his potential.
Rick is set to have a full set of racing tips on his profile for Ipswich tomorrow.

17/6/23 Saturday Horse Racing Best Bets for Flemington |
|
Racing returns to Headquarters this Saturday for a nine-race program with the first scheduled to jump at 11:50 am.
A couple of 3yo contests as well as three Open Handicap races stand as the main races on the card and while there are a few strong favourites in the market, it looks to be quite a tough betting program.
The track is currently rated as a Soft 6 but with dry weather on Friday and the top-quality drainage at Flemington, expecting we can get close to a Good 4 on race day.
The running rail is out 11m after previously being out 8m, and this should see the track be favourable to horses settling from midfield to the rear drawn inside to middle barriers.
Some good bets are to be had on this program and there are a few below that have plenty of reasons to get confident about.

Flemington Race 1 #9 Propice $5.50
This lightly-raced 5YO gelding returns from a spell and has his first run with his new trainers Lee & Shannon Hope.
Formerly with Greg Eurell, this horse is having its third preparation in Australia having started here before going over to Hong Kong as a 2YO.
His two runs last preparation were solid with a 2nd to the handy ‘Sigh’ first-up at Sandown and a 4th behind ‘Jungle Jim’, ‘Sigh’ and ‘Zorro’s Dream’ up the Flemington straight.
He interestingly comes into this without a jump out or trial so he will be very fresh but that adds to the excitement of what he could do here first-up.
Gets in very low at the weights at 52.5kg with top NZ apprentice jockey Wiremu Pinn claim to get him in at the minimum.
Pinn is in top form with 18 winners from his last 100 rides, including 6 winners here in Australia in a very short period of time.
Has had solid market support and if he can produce a similar performance to his first-up performance last preparation, he has a top chance of winning.
Flemington Race 9 #5 Who Dares $5.50
Going with another runner which flying apprentice Wiremu Pinn takes the sit-on.
This 3YO Deep Field colt has been a model of consistency in this preparation with only one run out of the placings.
Last start, he finished 3rd 0.5 of a length off of the favourite in this race ‘Legio Ten’.
He gets a massive 4kg swing in the weights in his favour which has him a strong chance to overturn the result from the last start.
At the start prior, he showed his tactical versatility when producing an enormous run from last to run 2nd behind the handy ‘Airman’ at this track up the straight.
He will be able to settle just behind the pace from his barrier draw without much work and with the soft run will prove very tough to run down.

Horse Racing Tips from Early Market Movers 17/6/23 |
|
A number of key runners have firmed up in early betting this week at both key venues.
At Flemington, a Patrick Payne runner is of particular interest and looks well suited coming out of a fast run race last start.
Whilst at Rosehill a number of key betting stables including the Ryan and Baker yards, have entered runners that appear ready for a bet in their first-up assignments.

Flemington Tips
Direct
High-priced yearling who looks to have come good following a number of moderate performances early in his career.
He was very impressive last prep when he returned to win three straight, hence there is high confidence he will be ready to fire first up here.
The rider is in great form and should have all favours launching from gate 4, where they can find an ideal smother just in behind.
Shaiyhar
He was ultra-impressive winning at this track over 2000m last start when he came from a long way back to get up on the post.
He looks ideally suited by the step up to 2540m and based on how strong he was late last time out, should simply eat up the extra distance.
Shinn does jump off, however that looks like a longer-term play for him and Yendall is no huge downgrade.
Jimmy The Bear
The Patrick Payne yard is starting to hit top form and make an art of picking off these weaker Winter season races.
He comes out of a fast run race here last start (2 of 13) over 1400m, which sets him up nicely for the 1600m now.
He will be peaking here and one of the strongest late. Yes.
Legio Ten
Has been in white-hot form winning his past three starts in impressive fashion, his latest here over 1100m.
He stays at the same distance and clearly must enjoy the Flemington straight.
At his last start, he charged home back along the inside which was likely the worst going.
Although sharply up in weight now to 60kg, this will again be offset by the apprentice's 2kg claim.
Rosehill Tips
Cap Ferrat
Waller 2YO colt who got home hard last start (3 of 12) at Eagle Farm over 1500m in stakes company.
He drops back to 1400m here and should be rock hard fit coming out of a fast run 1500m.
Being the fit horse, they may opt to ride him further forward on this occasion and can pour on the pressure from a long way out.
Smashing Eagle
Is from the right Camp (Gerald Ryan) to set them up for a first-up “sting” and the early money could suggest this is the case here.
He does enjoy racing fresh (3:2-0-0) and they will have poured the work into him to be ready to win.
With Arrowfield in the ownership, they will be looking to impress and the booking of Tim Clark is an excellent guide that there will be intent shown.
Space Tracker
Annabelle Neasham import who showed enough at his Australian debut (3 of 11) to suggest he is above average.
He was also well fancied by the market last start when he started favourite over a possibly unsuitable 1400m
Now out to 1500m we could see sharp improvement, and he looks perfectly placed to win.
*Note this market move has been affected by scratchings.
Cosmic Minerva
The stable are flying and when they combine with Josh Parr it can often be for the purposes of betting.
He has been readied with two solid trial hit-outs (winning both) and they can find the moving line midfield with cover, before storming over the top late.
If they are using the wider lanes at this late stage of the day, he looks very well suited.

|
Nic Ashman continues to defy belief with his sharp eye for roughie tipping.
Last weekend made it 4 weeks in a row he has landed a double-digit winner, with Pascero reeling them in at Randwick paying northward of $30.

Read on to see which horses he thinks are the main chances in this year's Ipswich Cup.
Race 7 - Listed Ipswich Cup (2150m)
History
Only Tradesman had posted a win during the current preparation before securing the Ipswich Cup.
Unlike other races, weight doesn't appear as detrimental to the top weights chances.
Trackwalker Info
Appears pretty even across with a small advantage to make your run in Lanes 2-6 as opposed to hard up against the rail.
Look for horses that stalk the speed and can blend into the race three and four wide coming around the bend
Speed Map
Plenty of natural speed engaged with Rousseau, Wapiti, London Banker and Dark Destroyer getting the right run according to our Trackwalker Info.

Nic's package includes exclusive speed maps, staking plan, rated runners and more in an easy-to-digest format.
Dark Destroyer
This is Dark Destroyer [last horse in the pic below] 7 days ago when unplaced behind Antino.
This race produced a rating of 92 on our database with Dark Destroyer rating 87 being 5L astern.
Our predictor is suggesting the Ipswich Cup will rate between 87-90 pending on how fast they go through the first mile.
Our database also shows Dark Destroyer improved around 3L from his 2nd up run to 3rd up run last prep, where he won the G3 Rough Habit Plate.
If he was to improve 3L here then we’d have him right in winning contention and at $13 on Friday morning he is a great each-way bet.
