Luke & Mick's Feature Race Plays
The Sydney Spring Carnival is in full swing with four more feature races at Rosehill
Two of theGreatTipOff.com's leading experts have just dropped their best plays for Saturday with plenty of value on offer.
Land the hot mail from Mick Gannon and Luke Hovhanesian now.
This is your complete form guide for the features.
Race 6 - Sheraco Stakes (1200m) - Luke Hovhanesian
While I'm a big fan of Joliestar, there is no way you could step into her at $1.75.
The bookies have over-compressed her price off her breath-taking win first up at Randwick.
This means there is better value elsewhere and I landed with Commemorative ($9.00), who was unlucky to not win herself first up.
The recent tick-over trial will have kept her up to the mark and she is ready to fire here with no weight on her back.
Tim Clark gets the ride and will be positive early to land her in a great position.
There is a lack of genuine early speed in this race and with a few soft sectionals should be in the finish at a big price.
Race 7 - Ming Dynasty Quality (1400m) - Luke Hovhanesian
Last Command ($10.00) should be half the price he currently is.
In his first campaign to the races, he knocked off Broadsiding before striking a very biased Rosehill track to round out his preparation.
He had two quiet trials leading into this preparation before putting away a decent field at Newcastle.
Second up he should be nearing peak fitness and will thrive getting back to a bigger track.
Look for Regan Bayliss to position him midfield with cover before letting rip down the centre of the Rosehill track.
Lady Shenandoah ($7.00) also worth a saver.
Race 8 - Run To The Rose (1200m) - Mick Gannon
Storm Boy ($2.00) arrives second-up after an impressive first-up performance, and he's set to receive on-pace favours.
If he holds his first-up rating, he’ll be tough to beat.
Switzerland profiles as a major contender, coming into this race with two promising trials under his belt.
He maps perfectly to challenge Storm Boy from an on-speed position.
Meanwhile, Bustling is heading towards an Everest campaign but will need to find an additional 3L on his peak performance to win.
With such improvement expected first-up, he looks under the odds despite his ability.
Race 9 - Theo Marks Stakes (1300m) - Mick Gannon
Connections of Whinchat ($7.00) will be eagerly awaiting two scratchings to secure a start.
If he gets a run, his natural speed combined with only 53kg in hand could see him lead comfortably and prove hard to run down.
Bases Loaded is on an Epsom campaign and is a danger if he can overcome the wide draw.
Coastwatch with residual fitness and a good map also has claims to be in the finish.
