Run over the famous Randwick Mile, the George Main Stakes is the first Group One of the Sydney Spring Racing Carnival.
A weight-for-age event often used as a lead-up to the Group One Epsom Handicap, runners fight it out for $500,000 in prizemoney.
Wonder-mare Winx has had a strangle hold this race winning in (2016), (2017) and (2018). Other notable winners include Lonhro (2003) and More Joyus (2010).
Bookies have this year's race marked as a one horse race, with the Godolphin owned Avilius coming up the short-priced favourite.
Acceptances and the barrier draw will play a huge part in this race.
Noted leaders Samadoubt and Dreamforce are a risk on a heavy track which leaves on-pace runners Angle of Truth and Invincible Gem set to sit on-speed and relish the heavy conditions.

Best Bet: Avilius $2.80 - The class horse in the race and if he draws a middle lane, he'll be able to hold a mid-field position and it'll be all over bar the shouting.
He's got the fitness edge on these runners coming off two nice runs, is unbeaten on a heavy track and is a multiple Group One winner who runs well at this track and distance.
Best Roughie: Angel of Truth $26 - The winner of last year's ATC Derby (2400m) on a Heavy 10 ticks plenty of boxes and if the field falls away, he could well lead them and prove awfully hard to run down.
