Tuesday Best Bets
We head to Scone for a hotly contested 7 race card.
The track is currently rated a Soft 6 and the rail is in the true position for the entire circuit.
Luke has lined up his two top picks to help fill your wallet before midweek racing.
Best Bet from Luke Hovhanesian
Scone Race 1 #1 Brogans Creek $5.00
This Toby Pracey train gelding is a really interesting runner.
At 6 years of age he made his raceday debut at Cowra, just over a week ago.
He showed good muster out of the barriers and landed in a forward position.
He kicked strongly on the bend and railed hard along the inside of the track.
Just 50m from home he was gathered in by the winner Overdefence, who pulled clear to score.
While he was beaten convincingly in the end, when assessing against all other races, he was easily in the worst part of the track.
Now heading to Scone, he can bounce back and in a big way.
He has drawn barrier 8 and with speed to his inside, can either sit outside of the leader or take a trailing position.
An identical effort sees him going very close and with Kody Nestor booked to ride, this gives me confidence they are here to break the maiden in style.
Scone Race 7 #8 Bastida $8.00
With the Spring carnival underway, high-quality horses will be looking further away than usual to find suitable fields first-up.
This is the case for this 4YO out of the Gary Sargent yard.
He showed high promise last campaign when winning two on the bounce, so much so that he tackled the VRC St Ledger, running a respectable 6th.
First up here, he lines up over the 1600m on the back of a single trial.
From the wide draw he will be dragged to the rear of the field and given an easy time.
As they turn for home he can make a move and storm down the outside.
His conditioning will have a lot to do with his performance, but if he has come back even 80% wound up, he will give this a big shake.
Big market watch prior to the jump.
