Horse Racing Tips the smart punter index 18 August 2018

Punters are forgiven for getting confused when trying to work out which tipsters are making money. 

Some sites use cash profit alone, but that doesn't tell you how much you have to risk to get the profit. Other sites focus on strike rate which doesn't give you the full picture either.

Profit on turnover (POT) is the ultimate measure, and despite some of the juicy percentages that some sites spruik, it is very rare to break into the black and even rarer to show double digit profit.

One of the worlds best horse racing punters, Bill Benter was reported to finish his career on 12% POT, and there wouldn't be too many punters anywhere near that number.
