Sandown Race 8 #3 Sixbysixetythree $4.80
Promising type resuming here for the flying Patrick Payne stable, who has had 27 winners from his last 100 runners.
He showed good ability last preparation when winning his first three starts of his career.
He then tackled a strong BM84 in town, finishing fifth as a $2.60 favourite.
He was disappointing in that run and backed it up with a fourth in a BM70 at Warrnambool.
Connections decided to spell him after that effort and let him freshen up.
He resumes here in a BM70 off the back of three jump-outs and a sharp trial where he closed nicely to finish third, just off the first two.
Draws a nice barrier in the middle of the line and can get a great run midfield with cover, off what looks to be a strong tempo.
He gets in well at the weights with only 57.5kg, after apprentice jockey Mikaela Lawrence knocks 3kg off and meets a pretty average field.
He is the horse with the upside and if he gets enough favours, he will be flying home and be right in the finish.

Sandown Race 7 #4 Flying Annie $12.00
With NSW racing postponed until Thursday, happy to speck this raider down south looking to steal this race in town.
Flying Annie is an honest type who always gives her all.
She has shown over her young career that she is versatile in her racing pattern and can lead or come off the speed.
This is important as she has drawn the carpark under apprentice jockey Matthew Cartwright.
Look for him to push forward early and while there is a shorter straight to the first turn on the Lakeside track, she has a high cruising speed to cross the field.
With the sunny weather in Melbourne, if this track improves to a Soft 5 or Good 4, Flying Annie will see a solid amount of support and start in single fingers come jump time.
A good each-way play towards the end of the day.
