Best plays for Sandown Lakeside
Where back at Sandown for Wednesday racing this week, where the Lakeside track hosts a strong eight-race card.
The track is currently rated a Heavy 9 and the rail is out 7m the entire circuit.
Given the rain affected surface, punters should be on the lookout for runners who have a fitness edge.

Sandown Lakeside Race 4 Tip #7 Savvy Lad $4.40
Team Busuttin/Young saddle up an ex-kiwi Savabeel gelding here, who will relish the soft conditions.
The three-year-old ran a super race in New Zealand late last year, producing an excellent turn of foot to beat a smart one who went on to frank that form in a stronger race over there.
He's had two average runs in Australia for the new trainers, both of which were on surfaces that didn't suit him.
He's since had a spell and now comes into this event well prepared, following two excellent Cranbourne jump outs. His recent effort was most impressive, when he kicked well to claim line honours.
It appears that he has really benefited from his first preparation in his new surroundings and the break has done him a world of good.
Daniel Moor can sit midfield on this galloper, peel him out at the top of the straight and prove too strong for this field.

Sandown Lakeside Race 4 Tip #5 Copper Fox $17 each way
On a day where there doesn't seem to be any standout bets on the card, I think you could do a lot worse than having an each way play on Copper Fox at a lovely double figure price.
He comes here second-up off the back of a very strong return to racing last start at Geelong, where he ran second over the 1100m journey behind the in-form Our Wind Spirit.
He got back in the field in running on that occasion, and was faced with a brick wall of horses at the top of the straight.
Once clear however, he worked home very strongly and was taking lengths off the winner through the line. He recorded the fastest last 600m and 400m sectional times of the day, and was an absolute pimple off recording the fastest last 200m time as well.
This indicates to me that the horse has returned this prep in very good order, and looks perfectly placed out in trip to the 1300m.
He's proven second-up (2:2-0-0) and over the distance (1:1-0-0). Being a NZ bred horse, the wet tracks don't seem to bother him either.
The only time he has gone around at a single figure quote was on his Australian debut seven starts ago, where he had genuine excuses after being piloted by a 4kg claiming apprentice.
It's only a matter of time before he wins again, and at the $17.00, I want to be with him to find out.
