Trial watcher Ben Beare gives us his top tips for Friday & Saturday racing
Friday's Best Tip
Goulburn Race 8 Tip #2 Lord Heron $4.60
This three-year-old debutant had a good hit-out in his first career trial.
Jumping well to lead, the gelding by All Too Hard travelled well into the straight and was ridden with little vigour. He finished a nose second to the fast-finishing Cogliere and the gap to third was 4.55 lengths.
The Jason Coyle trained runner again caught the eye in his second trial, running third and hard held against some proven types in Burning Energy and Picardy Rose.
The form from that trial looks strong, with the fourth-place runner, Dante Rossetti, a 3 length winner at Gosford on Tuesday.
The wide barrier is a concern, however the spacious Goulburn track will ensure he gets every possible chance.
Saturday's Best Tips
Flemington Race 4 Tip #4 Mount Kilcoy $4.60
Went straight into the black book after his first jump out.
His debut was at Sandown where he made solid
After a four week freshen, the colt then returned to Sandown to clinch his maiden victory over 1400m.
Running an unlucky second at his next start, he gets his second crack at the mile here and is ready to peak for this now fourth-up.
He was earmarked for this distance in his trials being the son of well known middle distance runner High Chaparral.
The lethal combination of Darren Weir and Dean Yendall combine here and from the better draw, Yendall will allow him to sit a little closer in the run.
Another plus is the pull in the weights of his last start rival Remember the Name.

Echuca Race 4 Tip #10 Billabong Bilby
She is a flying machine!
The filly by Redente was electric in winning a Tatura trial by seven lengths.
As always, the inside barrier draw is perfect for a first-starter. The Russell Osbourne trained filly will be able to find the lead with ease.
With the claim for apprentice Georgina Cartwright, Billabong Billy should prove way too strong for these.
