The Moody and Coleman stable is currently in a lean patch, and there may be broader process issues at play, whether that be a feed change or something else behind the scenes.

I am happy to oppose their short-priced runners while this trend continues.

Although this gelding has won his past two starts, he looks priced on hype here.

While he drops back in grade, this is still a deep race.

He loves to roll along in front, as shown in his last start win when leading all the way over this same 1600-metre trip.

However, today’s race shape is very different, with plenty of speed drawn right across the field.

I do not expect him to get the lead easily this time, and if they press forward, the early burn could be telling.

The alternative, riding him back, forces him out of his preferred racing pattern.

I expect a clear market drift leading into the jump, with $3 or better widely available by start time.

Avoid.

Eagle Farm Race 2 #2 Transatlantic $2.20

I am happy to pot this Tony Gollan boom horse, who I believe is not suited at the 1600 metres and looks very vulnerable from a wide barrier 12 draw with a tough task ahead in the run.

At $2.20, this is a poison price, and the speed map experts will almost certainly be against him.

With plenty of speed drawn inside, he faces the dilemma of either burning early to get across, or dragging back to near last.

Neither option is appealing at this quote.

This is exactly the type of scenario that professional betting teams target late.

I expect they will be firmly against him, marking him down heavily based on the map and his position in the run.

Expect a clear market drift here as well.
