Pro's come for Waller runners
It was another fill-up for our market mover readers last week, with 3 of our 8 selections saluting to deliver a very handy 94% Profit on Turnover.
The highlight came in Race 5 at Rosehill, when the Mark Newnham trained Shadow Crush edged out his rivals to score at the very nice $9 odds which was snapped up by early shoppers.
Punters are active early once again this week, with a number of mis-priced runners “picked off” at both Sandown and Randwick this week.
At Sandown, a Tony McEvoy 2YO looks very smart after an impressive debut run and can go right on with it.
Whilst at Randwick, punters have come for a number of key Waller runners.
Sandown Tips
Hurtle
This 2YO brained them all on debut at Ballarat when winning by 5 lengths.
He looks like a very good one, with plenty of natural early speed and is from the right 2YO camp in Tony McEvoy.
Expect him to find the front early and prove very hard to run down.
Ocean Miss
Was unlucky not to win last start when finishing 2 of 10 at Flemington after being held up at a crucial stage.
From the wide draw in gate 14 here, expect them to race midfield in the moving line and peel to clean air as they like.
Jamie Kah is a key booking and significant upgrade to last start.
Seiners Express
Has been working through the grades well and being back to restricted 3YO company for this clash should help.
He hit the line hard last start at Geelong to place 3 of 13 and should relish the step up to 1600m
If they run along at a good clip early, expect him to be charging home over the top
Bless Her
Has a touch of quality and did race well first-up at Caulfield to finish 3 of 6.
The second-up record (2:1-1-0) is excellent and expect she takes good improvement from the last start effort.
The Busuttin/Young stable have found form recently and could pay to follow.
Randwick Tips
Casino King
The money rider Reece Jones is engaged to ride which is always a good sign.
He appears a high-quality country galloper after starting favourite at four of his past five starts, where he placed 2 of 8 at his latest and won the start before.
He certainly deserves a trip to the city and looks very likely.
Zing
Looks primed here, following the last start Rosehill effort (3 of 13) where he just ran out of gas on the line.
Third-up (2:2-0-0) here is perfect and I expect her to take significant improvement from last start.
Trust Waller has her peaking here.
Opacity
Gets out to 1600m for the first time this prep and should be well suited by the extra distance.
Although well beaten in a hot race last start, not all appeared to be right and it may pay to forgive that effort.
There looks to be enough speed engaged here to allow him to run on and he should get a nice smother from gate 4.
Blondeau
Was dominant first up winning at Gosford, then he held form last start to place a close up (0.8 lengths) 3 of 10 at Rosehill.
From gate 10, expect them to find the moving line with cover and can extricate at just the right time.
Brenton Avdulla will be keen to impress the master trainer and a high-profile ownership group.
