The 10,000 has its own kind of magic
The Doomben 10,000 meeting has been transferred and will be run and won at Eagle Farm this year.
The consistent rainfall has taken its toll on the Doomben track and the firmer Eagle Farm surface will lend to safer and better racing.
It does look like a wise move by racing authorities to give themselves every chance to get the meeting completed at their other premier racetrack.
The Doomben 10,000 is raced under standard weight for age conditions and the honour list has some all-time greats as winners.
Stars like Takeover Target, Redzel, and dual-winner Apache Cat were victorious.
Last year, multiple Group 1 winner Eduardo, came out on top.
This year’s field has some very well-performed runners and will produce another great sprint.

Track Conditions
The surface is currently rated a Soft 6 and with further rain expected we hope it does stay in the soft range.
The rail is out 7m the entire circuit which normally favours those closer to the lead, however, the big circuit still should give all runners their chance.

The Map
-
Rothfire (7) should take up the running and put a clear gap on the field early on.
-
Zoustyle (11) has the early speed to come across from out wide and may even have the room to tuck in behind the pacemaker.
-
Mazu (8) can go with them early and slot in just behind the first couple.
-
Count De Rupee (5) and Paulele (6) will follow the speed and will find good positions from the nice gates.
-
Vega One (1) should drift back in the field and Entriviere (15) from the wide barrier will drift back towards the rear.
The Early Favourite - Mazu $2.90
Is the favourite on the back of five straight wins.
The 3YO is taking all before him, though his last three wins have been on heavy tracks.
He might need a similar surface against some seasoned campaigners here, to continue on his winning streak.
Best Racing Tips
I’ve put Isotope on top. She is a very good mare and first up, she had plenty of excuses being posted wide.
She performs great second up (3:2-1-0) and always improves on her first-up runs.
She has beaten Away Game on two occasions, which ties in pretty well, as that mare finished second in the Group 1 Robert Sangster last week.
With some luck in running, she could be the one finishing over the top of them.
Count De Rupee has been excellent at his past two runs and won the Group 2 Victory Stakes which is always a good lead up to this classic.
Kementari has found a new lease of life and is really enjoying wet tracks of late.
Mazu would not surprised if he stepped up to the next level.
1st Isotope $10
2nd Count De Rupee $9.50
3rd Kementari $7.50
4th Mazu $2.90
