The Pearl amongst the sea
South Australian racing reaches its peak over the Autumn.
On Saturday we have the first of four Group 1 races on the SA racing calendar, in the Australasian Oaks for the 3YO fillies.
It's a great day of racing at Morphettville with five races at Listed level and above.
My Whisper is the one to beat coming off four wins in a row.
Since the barrier draw, she has already received plenty of support in the market.

Track Conditions
We have a mixed meeting on Saturday with 6 races on the Parks track and 3 on the main circuit, including the Oaks.
The surface is currently a Good 4 and it has been a dry week in Adelaide.
There is some rain forecasted on Friday, but with only 1-5mm expected it shouldn't be affecting the condition of the track.
The rail is back in the true and provided we only receive the forecasted rain tomorrow and not much more, the main track for the 3 races should play really even.
Morphettville Race 7 - Australasian Oaks (2000m)
The Map
- With El Patroness scratched on Thursday, there isn't an obvious leader anymore. I expect Barb Raider and Ancient Girl to push forward. They can dictate the tempo from the front.
- A lot of the chances are drawn out wide and will likely go back in the field, but look for someone like Daises or Mac N Cheese to try and push forward possibly to sit closer to the speed.
- My Whisper has the perfect draw. Jamie Kah can make the choice to go forward and sit just behind the speed or settle back midfield.
The Early Favourite - My Whisper $4.40
You can't knock the form of this Snowden filly who has won 4 on the trot.
She has hard a sharp rise to stardom, ranging from a maiden win at Kilmore to a brilliant Group 3 win at Morphettville.
She continues to step up in trip and grade, with the Snowdens perfectly preparing her for the Grand Final this weekend.
Last start, in the Group 3 Auraria Stakes, she was posted 3 deep the trip without cover. She was still strong enough late to get over the top of them.
The 2000m looks perfect for her and is going to be hard to beat in her Group 1 debut.
However, there is one other filly I like at a price that is a chance of beating her.
Best Racing Tips
I keep getting drawn back to the run of Bons A Pearla in the Australian Guineas behind Hitotsu.
She has since run well at Moonee Valley in a strong Group 3. She was unable to grab Daises late after making a long sustained run.
Last start she met My Whisper and only got going with 300m to go.
She rallied home late, just outrun by today's favourite who was peaking in her run at the right time.
She meets My Whisper 3kg better at the weights and has superior form lines, being proven against the boys previously.
The favourite has always been against the girls, a slight knock for this big event.
Bons A Perala draws well and has the winkers go on for the first time.
I really think she is a great chance in this and the biggest danger in the field.
Daises had to do too much last start after making her run from the 800m mark. On the flip, dominant winner Harleymoven was able to box seat in the run and fly past the field late.
She has drawn wide here so will drift back which is the query on her, but you cannot knock her form at Group level.
If she can find a trail into the race without having to make her own luck, watch for her to be running at them late.
Douceur can be forgiven last start when pulling up lame at Caufield and prior to that, was a moral beaten at Moonee Valley behind Daises at Group 3 level.
She has been proven at the trip in the Spring running third in the Wakeful and if she has recovered accordingly from last start, will run a much better race here and be one to come into the placings.
- Bons A Perla $9.00
- My Whisper $4.40
- Daises $8.50
- Douceur $14.00
