Ballarat Race 4 Tip #4 Tavabeel $2.60
This 3YO gelding certainly is bred to stay, and he now gets out to a suitable trip.
The son of Tavistock is out of a Zabeel mare, giving me full confidence the 2600m will be perfect for him.
He has placed at all three starts to date and last run savaged the line to claim second prize over 2000m.
Jordan Childs will push forward over the longer trip, to take up a spot in the first four runners.
The give in the ground is no negative and he can surge in the straight to outstay them.

Wagga Race 2 #1 Evanora 3.00
This 4YO mare put in a solid first-up effort.
She then backed it up producing a huge run when 5th to Zoo Station at Rosehill in a Class 3 Highway.
He was a little flat third-up, but wasn't disgraced when running 3.72 lengths off the winner in a Class 4 at Goulburn.
He drops in grade for this, retains Matthew Cahill and draws to land behind the leaders.
He ticks all the boxes and will be giving us a huge sight.

Wagga Race 4 #12 Vain Invader $9.00
This 2YO gelding has had two trials in preparation for his first up run.
His last trial caught my eye at Warwick Farm when finishing a distant 4th.
He badly over raced early, before completely mishandling the bend and going very wide.
Once he balanced up, he charged at the line and was strong past the post.
This debut run will be over the 1215m distance and this will give him adequate time to settle in the run.
Whilst he still looks a work in progress, he isn't up against much in this field, and represents the value bet of the afternoon.
Look for Jess Taylor to settle midfield with cover before bringing this 2YO to the outside.
If they can run on okay, Vain Invader is a live chance on a tricky race card.
